Un tempo, riuniti sotto questo nome, ci furono uomini
che Volarono
aldilà del Mondo
per fare grande la loro Patria
Ricordando quegli uomini e la loro Impresa non voglio rendere onore ad una ideologia
ma piuttosto ad una Idea,
quella di fare insieme qualcosa di grande,
di Epico.
I più potenti mezzi sono inutili se non ci sono uomini coraggiosi a guidarli.
Le più grandi idee sono vuoti pensieri se non ci sono cuori che possono compierle.
Ma non è necessario compiere grandi Imprese per parlare di grandi Idee, di Valori, di Principi.
Basta ricordare e rendere loro Omaggio,
nel nostro modo di comportarci,
nel modo in cui lavoriamo,
per come ci approcciamo alla vita.
C’è chi ha dato la vita
per la Patria,
per l’ Onore,
per la Libertà.
Sembrano pensieri così lontani.
Noi ora viviamo in un mondo nel quale sembra che quei valori si siano persi
nella memoria dei nostri anziani,
sostituiti da arrivismo, speculazione, furbizia.
Anche se si tratta di fare una semplice maglia,
ricordando Squadratlantica,
per quanto sarà nelle mie possibilità
io intendo mantenere vivo lo spirito di chi credeva in quegli Ideali.
Voglio portare fuori dai musei quei Visi,
scrivere sulle mie maglie i Nomi di quelle Persone.
Sull’esempio di chi si impose di fare bene
io voglio fare bene,
voglio offrire un prodotto buono, onesto,
realizzato con la stessa cura e passione di chi un tempo progettò un idrovolante
che ancora oggi detiene il primato di velocità.
Dalle cose più semplici iniziano i grandi cambiamenti,
nei piccoli gesti di tutti i giorni ritroviamo lo spirito di ciò che possiamo diventare.
Squadratlantica ricorda e celebra per imparare da ciò che è stato.
Osservando il passato si può guardare al presente e pensare a ciò che sarà il futuro.
Ritrovando in noi stessi e mantenendo viva la forza di quegli animi che furono forza ed esempio
possiamo andare avanti giorno per giorno,
cercando di non scivolare,
attraverso le azioni che sembrano le più innocenti
verso quel baratro che già ha visto cadere lo Spirito dell’Uomo.
Once upon a time, Squadratlantica gathered several men
who flew beyond their World
to make their Country great.
I want to remember those men and their Adventure
because I want to honor their Idea of greatness and heroism,
not an Ideology.
The most powerful means are useless without a brave driver.
Great ideas are empty without a brave heart to carry them out.
But we can understand great ideas, values, principles, even if we didn’t achieve great deeds.
We can remember them and pay them tribute through our behavior, our work, our lifestyle.
Some people gave their lives for their Country, for Honor and Freedom.
These ideas appear so distant now.
Nowadays, it feels like these values have been lost in the memories of the elderly people,
replaced by pushiness, speculation, slyness.
Even if I’m just making a shirt, I want to remember Squadraatlantica
and – as far as I can – to keep alive the essence of the men who believed in those Values.
I want to take their Faces out of the Museums,
I want to write on my shirts their Names.
I follow men who did well because I want to do well.
I do want to offer a good and honest product,
carefully manufactured with the same passion that encouraged someone
to design a seaplane that still today holds the speed record.
From the simplest things, great changes may begin.
In the little everyday actions, we can find the spirit of what we can become.
Squadratlantica remembers and celebrates the Memory, learning from the past.
Studying the past we can face the present and look at the future.
Looking into ourselves, we can find the strength of those men that became strong
and exemplary, we can go on day after day,
we can avoid the action that while appearing harmless
but may lead to the same abyss
in which the Human Spirit has fallen before.
